Occult history can be traced as far back as ancient Egypt. When people hear the term "occult", images of satanic worship and ritualistic sacrifices are the first to surface. But to the occultist it is a study of a deeper truth that exists beneath the surface.

A whole story can be told from just one symbol

Egyptians used symbols to personify natural phenomenon and astral bodies.

A common symbol that is seen throughout the world is the pentagram. The Egyptians used this symbol to represent the star Sirius. This star is the subject of more myth and folklore than any other star besides the sun throughout the world.

This symbol is one of the most prevalent emblems in masonry.

The five-pointed star is seen throughout our culture.
Did I mention that Sirius is also known as the "Dog Star"? Sirius lies in the constellation of Canis Major, which literally translates to "Big Dog".

Another emblem that seems to permeate with occultism is the pyramid with the eye. This symbol represents the great architect of the universe. The eye floating above means that the universe is still a work in progress.

this looks like the beginning of a research project. It is important for you to think about this. are you interested in researching a topic or more interested in making things? either is a valid direction. you may find yourself doing a little bit of both.
